Veteran Tony Thompson (40-5, 27KOs) nearly lost his mind when he heard WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32KOs) is possibly going to make the first defense of his title against Eric Molina (23-2, 17KOs) on a June date in Alabama. Thompson is coming off a February stoppage victory over Olympic gold medal winner Odlanier Solis.

Thompson is pushing to get his hands on Wilder and wants his shot right now. He views the fight between Wilder and Molina as a mismatch and expects a first round knockout for the champion, who captured his belt in January with a twelve round decision of Bermane Stiverne.

"Deontay Wilder is a chinny bum that I would 100% knock out!  Now ESPN talking about him fighting Eric Molina in June. Come on, that fight is a joke - you may as well go ahead and put KO1 on the boxrec now," Thompson stated to BoxingScene.com.

"That bum Wilder is so protected that its unveliveable. Have some pride and fight me.  I will give half my purse to any charity if I can't beat your sorry ass.  You shouldn't be the WBC champion, you should be the WMP (World's Most Protected champion).  I usually don't disrespect other boxers, but I got no respect for Deontay Wilder, especially if he's going to defend against the same bums he came up with."
