Promoter Kalle Sauerland knew the main event in his first MF Pro show would cause a stir.

Sauerland has paired 49-fight heavyweight veterans Deontay Wilder and Dereck Chisora on April 4 in London at the O2 Arena in a fight that promises carnage and unpredictability.

The fighters are due to come head-to-head on Monday with a press conference in England next week.

Sauerland is delighted that he has got the fight over the line, and it will be on DAZN.

“I just love the fight,” said Sauerland. “If I wasn't promoting them, I’d love the fight. I just think it's a really interesting fight, you know. I didn’t quite imagine when I said we’ll start with a big event, I didn't think it would be this one. I’m very happy with that.”

Wilder is 40 years old and has lost four of his last six. Even so, he has talked of fighting for another decade. He’s 44-4-1 (43 KOs) and last boxed when defeating Tyrell Herndon in July.

Chisora has pledged to bow out after this, his 50th fight. He is a Queensberry Promotions fighter and has bizarrely, at 36-13 (23 KOs) and at 42, been in some of the best form of his career with a trio of wins over Gerald Washington, Joe Joyce and Otto Wallin.

MF Pro is a new promotional company and they recently announced the signing of British cruiserweight champion Viddal Riley, who is likely to appear on the London card in his first bout since victory over former Olympian Cheavon Clarke last April.

News spread last week that Channel 5, Sauerland’s most recent broadcasting platform, would withdraw from the sport but the promoter said he still hopes to do “free-to-air boxing” and there would be further news about a broadcaster in the coming weeks.
