Trainer Dave Coldwell is confident that Ryan Rhodes is capable of capturing the WBC junior middleweight title when he challenges unbeaten champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on June 18 in Guadalajara, Mexico. Coldwell is not only confident of victory, he is also confident that his boxer has the necessary tools to close the show with a big knockout.

Coldwell is studying Alvarez's fights on a nightly basis. He sees a lot of exposable flaws, including the boxer's less than stellar defense and his wild nature to attack from the opening bell.

"Ryan without a doubt has got the capability to knock this kid out," Coldwell told Sky Sports. "I'm watching him every night, and the more i'm watching him the more I see his mistakes. The fact that he's such a young Mexican sensation kind of works in our favor."

"He's got this youthful exuberance where he wants to go out there and demolish every guy he fights. He's just won a world title, it's a massive occasion and I think he'll want to bash Ryan to bits. From round one, if things aren't going his way he'll start getting frustrated.  Ryan at light middleweight is very, very hard, and Alvarez has been hurt once or twice and not by the world's fastest punchers either. Ryan's got good hand speed as well, whether he walks onto a shot or whether Ryan goes after him I think Ryan's got the capabilities of winning this fight."
