Marco Verde will maintain a steady schedule as he approaches his first full year in the pro ranks.

BoxingScene has confirmed that the blue chip prospect from Mazatlan, Mexico is set to return to the ring on March 14 in Guadalajara, Mexico. An opponent was not yet determined for the unbeaten 168lbs boxer on a show presented by Canelo Promotions, his career-long promoter owned by Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and run by Eddy Reynoso.

The show will also feature rising, 20-year-old featherweight prospect Alexander Gueche, 10-0 (7 KOs) in his first scheduled 10-round contest, as well as Johan Alvarez, 11-0-1 (7 KOs) - Canelo's 22-year-old nephew, who will appear in an 8-round, 130lbs bout.

Opponents for all three boxers are expected in short time.

Verde, 23, signed with Canelo Promotions straight out of the amateurs after claiming a silver medal for Mexico during the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Mexican southpaw made his pro debut last May 3 on the undercard of Alvarez’s unanimous decision win over William Scull to become two-time undisputed 168lbs champion in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The mentor and protégé also shared the stage last September at the first-ever combat sports event at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Verde, 4-0 (2 KOs), was the opening bout on a Netflix card topped bv Terence Crawford’s win over Alvarez to claim the undisputed 168lbs crown.

For his part, Verde scored a 4th round knockout of Sona “Slink Proper” Akale, who was best known for being the first to defeat Nico Ali Walsh.

The two appearances on Alvarez’s undercard also mark Verde’s lone action away from his home country. Wedged in between the two fights, Verde made his Mexico debut last July 12 in a six-round unanimous decision victory over Cristian Montero in Culiacan.

In his most recent start, Verde also went the distance in a six-round shutout of the vastly more experienced pro Raphael Igbokwe (17-6 at the time) last December 13 in his Mazatlan hometown.
