LAS VEGAS --- Floyd Mayweather talked about how his fight against Marcos Maidana on Saturday night at the MGM Grand on Showtime PPV could be his final fight.
Mayweather, who will receive a $32 million purse on Saturday, is in the third fight of a six-fight contract with Showtime, but there are days when he ponders hanging up his gloves.
"Why wouldn't I?" Mayweather said. "As a human being, as a man, I'm able to do what I want to do with my career."
Mayweather said it's not the grind of the sport that has him considering retirement.
"If I choose to walk away, I walk away," Mayweather said. "I'm a human being."
Is it because of health issues or that he wants to walk away from boxing with all his faculties?
"I didn't say I had health problems or none of that," Mayweather said. "If I feel like walking away, it's like some guy ... if an artist wants to stop painting, I reached my limit, I want to stop painting."
Mayweather, 37, was asked by a random reporter why he would walk away if he's still in his prime and beating guys easily?
"I'm in my prime and I'm almost 40?" Mayweather said. "Well, then what was I doing when I was 20?"
