Dereck Chisora says he is hoping to spar with Anthony Joshua in his final preparation for facing David Price.
Chisora faces Price in a heavyweight clash at the O2 Arena, London, on October 26 and he said he hoped to go to Sheffield next week to work with Joshua, who has started his camp for his December 7 rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr.
“I am going to go and see him next week,” Chisora said. “He has asked me a couple of times but I have been too busy but next week I will go and see him.
“We will go straight into sparring. He is tall like Price and I am short like Ruiz
“I will just be going in and out, no staying in Sheffield in hotels, that’s why David (Haye, his manager) is here to organise, in and out.”
Haye agreed that the sparring could benefit both of them.
“For both of their respective fights they are ideal sparring partners, no one could mimic Ruiz’s relentless come-forward presser like Derek,” Haye said.
“And if anyone can reproduce Price’s long-range jab and move style, which AJ will need to adopt to win the rematch, it is Del.
“Derek is in shape and blasted 10 rounds out on Thursday, even if he just gets six to eight rounds with AJ done, it will be good preparation for him and AJ.”
Price stepped in to take the fight when Joseph Parker, the original opponent, pulled out after being bitten by a spider.
Chisora says he believes the Price fight makes it a bigger fight in Britain, although he said Parker was bigger globally.
