The details pertaining to the return of former world champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (44-1-1, 32KOs) are being finalized in the coming days. The one thing surely known is that his next, either in late November or early December, will not be on pay-per-view. Canelo's last three fights, against Floyd Mayweather Jr., Alfredo Angulo and Erislandy Lara, have been carried by Showtime Pay-Per-View.

According to manager Jose 'Chepo' Reynoso, Canelo's next return will be showcased on regular network television.

"We met with people of Golden Boy Promotions in their offices, with Oscar de la Hoya, with Eric Gomez and Roberto Diaz. What is a fact is that [Canelo's] fight will not be on pay-per-view. We made two fights this year in that mode and we want people to take a rest [from spending money], at least for the next fight," said Reynoso.

What's interesting is that Reynoso says Canelo's next fight is not necessarily going to land on Showtime, who carried the Mexican star's last five fights. There is a possibility that Canelo might return to the airwaves of HBO.

The three opponents being considered are James Kirkland, the experienced Joshua Clottey and WBO champion Demetrius Andrade.
