Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna (29-4-1) of Millville, New Jersey impressively knocked out Jorge 'El Tigre' Pimentel (30-27) of Sonora at 1 minute and 24 seconds of the first round in Agua Prieta, Sonora in a closed-door event.
Millville, NJ - Junior middleweight contender Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (28-4-1 10 KOs) will return to the ring on Friday, October 30th at The La Terraza Sports Bar in Agua Prieta, Sonora Mexico. The card is promoted by LaManna’s promotional entity Rising Star Promotions.
It's been a little over a week since Jr. Middleweight Contender Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna and once beaten Brian "La Bala" Mendoza squared off in the PBC on FS1 Main Event from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Uncertain as to why and how, judges Edward Hernandez Sr. (98-92), Steve Morrow (96-94) and Pat Russell (98-92) all saw the bout in favor of Mendoza. Ironically, Hernandez Sr. was one of the judges from this past Sunday's WBA Welterweight championship fight between Yordenis Ugas and Abel Ramos.
It wasn’t easy but Brian Mendoza checked off two boxes on Saturday night in Downtown Los Angeles. He won what was both his Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) debut and his first fight in a new weight class.

Thomas LaManna thought he had recorded just the type of win he desperately needed to rejuvenate his career Saturday night in Los Angeles. That was until Jimmy Lennon Jr. announced that all three judges disagreed with how he fought against Brian Mendoza in their 10-round junior middleweight match. Edward Hernandez Sr. (98-92), Steve Morrow (96-94) and Pat Russell (98-92) all scored Mendoza the winner of a fight FS1 televised as part of the Erislandy Lara-Greg Vendetti undercard from Microsoft Theater.
Brian Mendoza (18-1) is very excited to make his Premier Boxing Champions debut on Saturday night against Thomas "Cornflake" LaManna (28-3-1) in a bout that will be televised on FS1. In the main event on FOX, WBA super welterweight Champion Erislandy Lara will defend his title against Greg Vendetti.
For Brian Mendoza (18-1), Saturday night cannot come soon enough. The 26-year-old Las Vegas, Nevada based fighter will face Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna (28-3-1) at Microsoft Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles in a bout televised as part of a Premier Boxing Champions on FS1 card.
The time spent at the scale wasn’t nearly as dramatic as the mid-morning drama preceding the official weigh-in. Erislandy Lara and Greg Vendetti both easily made weight for their 12-round junior middleweight main event, which airs live Saturday evening from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California. Their bout tops a televised tripleheader live in primetime on Fox, beginning at 8:00pm ET.
The question isn’t whether Thomas ‘Cornflake’ LaManna is ready for primetime if called upon, but if primetime is prepared for Cornflake. BoxingScene.com has learned that the charismatic junior middleweight has been designated as the official replacement opponent in the event his services are needed for this weekend’s Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on Fox headlining bout (Saturday, FOX, 8:00pm ET). The show is topped by Cuban southpaw Erislandy Lara in the first defense of his secondary 154-pound title as he faces Massachusetts’ Greg Vendetti (22-3-1, 10KOs) live from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.
