Roman Gonzalez Landed 59% of Raw Power on Sosa

Dazzling display of offense by WBC flyweight champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez, who landed 72 punches in less than six minutes, including 59% of his power shots. Edgar Sosa landed just 14 total punches.

Gonzalez (43-0, 37 KOs) seized the chance provided by his first showcase on HBO with a masterful performance against Sosa, a talented veteran contender. Chocolatito battered Sosa around the ring in the first round and dropped him three times in the second.

Throwing sharp combinations and showcasing power in both hands, Gonzalez floored Sosa (51-9) twice with brutal right hands before finishing him with a multi-punch barrage against the ropes with 23 seconds left in the second round.

Gonzalez already sits high on most pound-for-pound lists, but had never received such a broadcast showcase due to networks' traditional reluctance to feature lighter weight classes.

Roman needs to push for Estrada II and Inoue. He'll have a legitimate claim to #1 P4P after Floyd retires if wins those fights.

This kid is the goods. The last time I seen a fighter with that high of a connect rate with such precision /aggression was when Felix Trinidad was playing volleyball with Ricardo Mayorga's head.

It might be easier for Roman to get fights with HBO backing sinc small guys will never see that much money

Thank you, thank you, thank you HBO for being the first to get your head out of your ass in the boxing world. Now bring on Estrada, Ioka, Viloria, Ruenroeng, Mthalane, Cuadras, Concepcion, or Inoue!

Gonzalez has more talent and skill then any fighter I have seen In quite some time. He Is very exciting to watch and HBO needs to have him on an under card again soon.
