Former WBC middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32KOs) is very pleased with the training camp for his scheduled return against Marco "Dorado" Reyes (33-2, 24KOs), which takes place on July 18 in the city of El Paso, Texas. The fight will take place at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds. Reyes is being prepared by legendary Hall of Fame trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain Chavez Jr. is hoping to get his career back in order. He returns from an April ninth round TKO defeat at the hands of talented 175-pound contender Andrzej Fonfara. That fight took place at light heavyweight.

The return of former champion Mikey Garcia (34-0, 28KOs) is getting closer, according to his brother and trainer Robert Garcia. Mikey has been out of the ring since last January when he won a twelve round unanimous decision over Juan Carlos Burgos at super featherweight. Robert says his brother may return in August or September. There is still some debate on Mikey's next weight division, which appears to be a run at junior welterweight or potentially dropping to lightweight after his comeback.

Chavez Jr. will wait until Garcia has settled in after returned from the UK, where he traveled to work the corner for IBF featherweight Evgeny Gradovich this Saturday night against mandatory challenger Lee Selby. Chavez returned to the last month, after a year layoff, and was stopped in nine rounds by top light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara at the StubHub in Carson, California. He was trained for that fight by Joe Goossen. Prior to Goossen, Chavez was trained by Hall of Fame coach Freddie Roach.
