Trainer Robert Garcia wants discipline and hard work ethic from former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (48-2-1, 32KOs), who returns on July 18th against Marcos Reyes in El Paso, Texas. Showtime is being reported as the television outlet.

Chavez returned in April after a one year layoff and got knocked out by Andrzej Fonfara in nine rounds. After the fight Chavez admitted that he made a mistake in moving up by two weight classes to 175-pounds and facing a top contender in that division.

A few weeks later he decided to cut loose recently hired trained Joe Goossen and has now hired the services of Garcia. Chavez will return as a super middleweight.

Chavez has had a lot of issues in the past with former trainers, like Freddie Roach, who said the Mexican contender would often get lazy in camp, disobey orders, no-show training days and create his own schedule.

"What we did not negotiate, and what I need to tell him, are things like if he's going to train at my gym here in Riverside - he would have to commit to a schedule, listen to what I say, follow instructions, show up to learn - because I don't want it where I just make money and he does whatever he wants," Garcia told ESPN Deportes.

"I think that Chávez Jr. - if he's well trained, doing the things I want him to do, listen to me - I think that he can be the best at 160 pounds and also at 168. And I also think that he can once again became a champion very soon."
