Lee Selby: record, next fight and profile →
Fight fans will be able to tune in free-to-air on BoxNation this Friday night at 7.45pm to watch the heated ‘Face-to-Face’ premiere between IBF world champion Lee Selby and undefeated Leeds favourite Josh Warrington.
WE CAREFULLY MANAGED to prise Ohara Davies from under a double decker last week and handed him a ticket to ride in the thriving super lightweight division. I am delighted to bring him onboard and we can now extend the great thing we have got going at the weight involving Terry Flanagan, Jack Catterall and Josh Leather.
May 19th’s Elland Road grudge match is edging closer as Lee Selby and Josh Warrington continue to stoke the fire before their stadium showdown. After last week’s press conference was over, the Champion sat across from Warrington in a special Face Off feature film. A snippet of the back-and-forth verbals featured on the latest BoxNation Podcast:
On Saturday 19th May, Elland Road will host the IBF World Featherweight Title fight between the current World Champion, Lee Selby and number one contender for the belt, Leeds Warrior, Josh Warrington. It’s the first time that Elland Road has staged a World Title Boxing fight and the event will be one of the biggest sporting occasions in Yorkshire this Summer!
ON WEDNESDAY WE came to Leeds to officially ‘cut the ribbon’ to launch the countdown towards what I believe will be the biggest sporting event in the history of the city. Of course, I am talking about the opening press conference for the IBF world featherweight title fight between Lee Selby and his mandatory challenger, the local hero Josh Warrington.
IBF World featherweight titlist Lee Selby (26-1, 9 KOs) and mandatory challenger Josh Warrington (26-0, 6 early) both vowed to register a win and move on to a fight against the winner of Carl Frampton against Nonito Donaire when meeting to promote their May 19 encounter at Elland Road football ground at a hotel in Leeds earlier today.
Lee Selby will make the fifth defence of his IBF World Featherweight Championship against Mandatory Challenger Josh Warrington at the home of Leeds United, Elland Road on Saturday 19th May, live and exclusive on BT Sport and BoxNation.
On May 19th, Lee Selby finally gets the chance to put an end with to his rivalry with mandatory challenger Josh Warrington. Much has been said between the two rivals, and Selby will be eager to shut Warrington up for good. Despite the bad blood, it’s clear the Welshman respects his opponent as a fighter.
Frank Warren is delighted to confirm that contracts have been signed for the IBF World Featherweight Championship between World Champion Lee Selby and the IBF Mandatory Challenger Josh Warrington. The fight will be shown live and exclusive on BT Sport and BoxNation on Saturday May 19. Leeds hero Warrington (26-0, 6 KO’s) brought the blockbuster all-British showdown closer to reality by stopping previously unbeaten Dane Dennis Ceylan in a Final Eliminator clash at the First Direct Arena back in October.
Frank Warren recently announced that former champions Carl Frampton and Nonito Donaire will collide on April 7th in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The bout will be contested at 126 pounds and Donaire, who recently made his debut with Ringstar Sports, is excited to face a fighter with the credentials of Frampton.
