YouTube star Jake Paul believes that his boxing run can potentially lead to a potential showdown with the top pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

The 24-year-old Paul (3-0, 3 KOs), who has a a tremendous following on social media, is taking part in his fourth boxing match in the coming months - with former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

Earlier this year, Paul blew away MMA veteran Ben Askren in a single round.

When Paul and his older brother, Logan Paul, began to box - Canelo shook his head at the sudden increase of exhibition fights.

Canelo thought very little of Logan Paul's recent exhibition clash with Floyd Mayweather.

“Well, it’s just an exhibition,” Canelo said. “It’s about making money is all. It’s really not relevant at all. It’s an exhibition, just for making money. As you say, it’s stupid.”

But, younger brother Jake Paul is taking part in fully sanctioned fights - even thought they have not been against actual boxers.

Should he keep winning, Jake is very willing to step in the ring with Canelo.

“I’m open-minded and I think anything is possible. I think I could be fighting against Canelo Alvarez for the WBC or WBO championship belt. Really, the sky is the limit. It’s just about how serious I take it, and I do take it seriously, more seriously than 99% of those professional boxers out there,” Paul said to TMZ.

“Why not, baby? Hey, a lot of people are afraid, right? They’re afraid to try, they’re afraid to get out of their seats, they’re afraid to do something different. But that’s them, that’s not me. I know that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to, and that’s why there’s a difference between successful and non-successful people in this world.”
