And for Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool to suddenly go to **** and Portsmouth, Blackburn, Villa and Tottenham to stop progressing at a quicker pace than you.

How great would it have been if we were the team that send the Mackem scum down.
Sunderland can't and never will attract the big name players, even with out Euro football next year, King Kev and the toon have the pulling power to bring in any of the worlds top stars.
Did anyone on here know that Sunderland let school kids in to the stadium of ****e for free, they say it's a community thing to get more kids interested in the football club, but anyone with half a brain ( no one in Sunderland then) knows it's just to make the ground look full.

If you really think that you have anything more to offer prospective players (who Sunderland are also interested in) than money, you are just an average delusional Newcastle fan who probably expects to walk over the teams far better than you this season to claim your rightful 6th place. You and Boro have both pissed money around on wages for years. They have a philanthropist chairman who loves it. You would've been in serious trouble this year, completely unable to waste your standard millions on players...were it not that for the fact that you were rescued last minute by a billionaire chairman.
Believe this, as it is the truth. The only reason that you've been a 'successful' club over the past decade is because you're in the top 3 all-time spenders in the Premier League (which you invariably are every single season too). This is the first season we've EVER gone up and spent considerable money (still not that much more than you in this one season) and look how close we are to you. Players traditionally have been unsure of coming to Sunderland because we were thought of as a yo-yo club with no money. We're over-coming both of those expectations. You've had to pay over the odds on wages because...quite frankly...the North East is cold, its not the nicest place and because, despite all the money you spend every season, you're still largely seen as an underperforming joke club.
Sunderland give a few hundred free-ticket allocations around to local schools, like many other Premier League clubs, as a good-will gesture. If you really think that this is anything to look down on, you're an idiot. Just like Newcastle, we've always pulled in big passionate crowds (need I remind you of the recent research that showed Sunderland crowds to be the loudest in the Premiership. You were way down in 12th I seem to remember). The difference is that our crowds have still followed us down to the division below and have barely ever turned on their manager. Would yours do the same? 50,000 Geordies booing a manager who had them in a better league position than you are in now, would suggest possibly not.
Exactly how many managers do you want to go through before you realise that the management isnt the problem, its the team and the expectations.

Newcastle has wasted millions in the past, but I would rather have a club who was willing to spend big even when the team is doing poorly than have a club who are **** scared to spend anything, ie Sunderland under former chairman Bob Murray.
Outside England does anyone know who and where Sunderland is ? no, Newcastle yes.
Roy Keane is not a likeable man within football, and if something doesn’t go his way he spits his dummy out.

Good to see the lads bounce back, wasn't sure about Kev coming back but he's turned it around.
Good to see Owen firing again as well.
Obviously I no longer live in Newcastle and dont get to the games any longer so can anyone tell me if Owen is still anywhere near as quick as he once was, I met a squaddie a while ago who told me that Owen had lost his pace?
He still looks quick on the TV?
