Male Actors who lie about their height and wear lifts

I heard somewhere that Hollywood doesn't like tall actors because tall actors make it difficult to capture a shot in one frame or something like that. I heard they use short actors and exaggerate their height offscreen.

That's possibly true. It was certainly true during the silent movie era. Charlie
Chaplin was very small...all the actresses were very small and petite.

It is very hard to get a decent close up shot of two people where one person is a foot or half a foot taller. You'll notice differences in height between close ups and distance shots.

I noticed this effect on GOT the other day. One actor...Theon...was taller than his sister in the close up, but in the distance shot he was obviously just about the same size as his sister.

But this doesn't excuse actors lying about their height. Shows a lot of insecurity.

I don't know about this because the producers and directors are the ones who want the actors to wear lifts. For example guy who plays Cap. America is already 6 ft. I hear yet he wears lifts to look bigger and so does Downey Jr. As Iron Man. Vin Diesel they wanted to wear lifts so he didn't look so much smaller than The Rock.

I kind of get it. I'm 5'8 barefoot. When I wear work boots I'm 5'10 and it does feel different. It's probably addicting. The best route is probably to just own it like Prince did.

Yeah shoes can add a good inch or two, but those special lifted shoes will ad 4 inches, inside they have extra padding combined with the two or three inch sole. Downey jr lifts are so ridiculous thoug, he has those extreme ones the ones that give a good five inches. I think he is like five foot five without them.

Floyd wore lifts to appear taller to try and intimidate Manny during post fight pressers but Floyd was using Sun Tszu tactics of deflection by saying Pac was using lifts when we all know he doesnt so nobody would know Floyd was using it.
