So if border crossings are at record lows, and everyone knows a wall will do little to stop people from coming, why not allow Trump to keep his campaign promise about the wall and in turn negotiate a deal for the dreamers? Maybe a path to citizenship for many illegals who are here already?

Iirc Trump was willing to make a deal on the dreamers as long as there was a deal for the wall, and it was the democrats who turned it down. Why?

In addition Trump and many Republicans have said there will be no talks about path to citizenships for any illegals living in the country as long as there is no wall, so why not compromise? Why are the democrats so unwilling to move on this issue?

The problem with trying to get some people to feel sympathy for illegal immigrants is that these are people descended from people who have never viewed others not like them as human. It's in their DNA to view those different as sub humans. That's why they can compare illegals to zoo animals and not an eye is batted while one of the "others" calls one of theirs a mother****er and everybody loses their ****.

Never forget, these people had to be forced, kicking and screaming, to live up to the words "all men are created equal" even though it was written in the founding document of this country.

Most of us Americans are descended from immigrants.

Mine were primarily Jews and Irish folks.

And those people weren't exactly embraced by Anericans back when they arrived.

Okay... but if the republicans and trump are both saying no path to citizenship for dreamers or some of the illegals already here until the wall is funded, why not just build the f thing? It’s a win win for everyone. The republicans get the border security they want, the democrats get the path to citizenship they want.
