Who was harmed? Who is the victim in this “crime”

    Much ado about nothing..

    Kabuki theater
I've said this on another thread. I don't see a crime yet, besides the lie to the FBI.

The case is being made that right after Obama installed sanctions on Russia for meddling in the election, someone on Trump's team told Flynn to tell the Russkies not to worry and not to retaliate. The Russians didn't retaliate and Trump immediately tweeted a thanks to Putin calling him a "smart guy".

If this was BEFORE the election, could it be somehow construed as collusion or interfering in US state relations with a foreign power? If it was AFTER the election then Trump could do it, although maybe not before being sworn in.

Either way surely it can't be considered as a "high crimes and misdemeanor" issue. Embarrassing, sure, but Trump cannot be embarrassed by any moronic thing he's done...he'd already proved that point.

      Yeah, I don’t get it..

Got no problem with Flynn being busted for lying to fbi..

He also lied to trump admin about the same stuff and they canned him.. didn’t last 3 weeks..

Now if Flynn was part of some grand conspiracy treasonous plot, don’t you think he would have stuck around the administration.

It’s obvious that trump does a horrible job vetting his staff but the dude was literally canned after lying to pence, same lies he probably told fbi

I got no problem blasting trump when I feel it’s necessary, but I just don’t get how this is some huge treasonous plot

ABC’s Flynn-Trump Report Caused Panic In The Stock Market — Then They Corrected The Story

        http://dailycaller.com/2017/12/01/ab...e-story-video/

ABC News is making a significant correction to a report it did on former national security adviser Michael Flynn that sent shockwaves across social media and financial markets on Friday.

Brian Ross, a veteran journalist at ABC News, reported earlier in the day that a source close to Flynn said that the retired lieutenant general was prepared to testify that during the campaign Donald Trump instructed him to make contact with Russian government officials.

The report came out after Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts during the presidential transition period with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. Special Counsel Robert Mueller found that Flynn lied to the FBI during a Jan. 24 interview on the topic.

“A clarification tonight on something one of Flynn’s confidants told us and we reported earlier today,” Ross told ABC “World Tonight” host David Muir.

“He said the president had asked Flynn to contact Russia during the campaign. He’s now clarifying that, saying, according to Flynn, candidate Trump asked him during the campaign to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other world hot spots. And then after the election, the president-elect asked him to contact Russia on issues including working together to fight ISIS.”

Nothing unusual about any of it...perfectly normal and necessary thing to have done as well as being completely legal.

ABC caused the stock market to plummet more than 350 points after the News report, seemingly because it undercut Trump’s longstanding claim that he did not order anyone to contact the Russians prior to the election...and then had to issue a correction. Jokes on you.

              • The grubers here weren't the only ones who now look all kinds of stupid:

On Friday, a producer for “The View” interrupted co-host Joy Behar on air to deliver some breaking news. Behar read from a notecard the producer handed to her, sharing the news that President Donald Trump’s former security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI.

“Michael Flynn promised full cooperation to the [Robert] Mueller team,” Behar read in disbelief, “and is prepared to testify that, as a candidate, Donald Trump directed him to make contact with the Russians.”

To this, Behar flung her arms in the air and yelled “Yes!” as the audience cheered.

“It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and it’s beginning to look a lot like collusion,” guest Ana Navarro said.

Co-host Meghan McCain immediately compared the audience’s response to the reaction when Oprah Winfrey famously gave out free cars on her show in 2004.

To this, Behar retorted, “No, no, [it’s like], he goes to jail! He goes to jail! He goes to jail! Lock him up!”

Source, includes gif of her premature victory celebration:

I may have to tune into The View on Monday just to see the long faces. It'll be just like on election night!

Are you starting to see how so much of this conspiracy theory makes no rational sense whatsoever?
You said it was Flynn's job to meet with foreign officials so what's the problem. You're making it seem like he was just doing his job. If he was just doing his job he wouldn't have lied. This is a general we're talking about. And former defense intelligence chief. This isn't Jared Kushner we're talking about. He's lying because everything wasn't on the up and up. If everything was on the up and up he wouldn't have lied.

If the Republicans were sure that Hils did something wrong then you'd have to think that they would be trying to nail her hide to a fence

That didn't address my point. I never said she did anything wrong in accepting the $100 million.

                      Try again.
