I'm aware of that, but that may well change soon. The autopsy results are in, and they are consistent with a suicide and show no injuries consistent with a violent homicide.

It's also worth noting this woman had tried to commit suicide earlier this year.

Look up the Atwater v City of Lago Vista case. Woman got arrested for a seatbelt violation in Texas and took it to the supreme court. Supreme court held that the arrest did not infringe on her 4th amendment rights. Reading the accounts of the case, it was far more troubling than the Bland case (children present, driver was trying to be compliant, officer was verbally abusive). Fun fact, Atwater is white.

You have a right to know what you are being arrested for, IF you are under arrest which he didn't do.

He doesn't have a right to grab her and pull her out under Texas law. Only if he feels he's in danger, which he wasn't.

He doesn't have the right to tell her to put out a cigarette, it's none of his fuking business she's smoking.

Man, it seems to be the same culprits in this place that have no problems with cops violating our 4th amendment rights and just chalking it up to people having attitudes.

Bottom line is, he violated her constitutional rights. So she had an attitude, boo hoo. Don't be a fuking cop if you can't take the pressure of people having an attitude.
The claims in bold I have already proven false in this thread. The worst you can say about the cop is that he did not seem to inform her of the reason for her arrest and that he escalated the situation instead of trying to defuse it.

A person's attitude goes a long ways in life. She chose her own fate.

Again, being rude, asshole, ****, whatever you wanna call it, is NOT a crime.
Again, failure to use a turn signal in Texas is an arrestable offense, as well as resisting a lawful order.

Cops do have to tell u why you are being arrested, not sure if they have to tell u why they want u out of the vehicle tho. Not sure about the CIG bit, but again...

In a lot of these cases, had the person cooperated with the police officer's requests/commands, they would still be alive. However having said that, a person's refusal to obey, defiance does not give the cop the right to affect your death.

The cop was cause for her death? I thought, according to the story, that she hung herself in jail

                What's wrong with fluoridated water?

You could argue that he 'indirectly' affected her death. If you don't buy that, then the cops who apprehended Eric Garner definitely played a role in his death. That's my point

                      Really?

When you accidentally swallow a pea sized flouride toothpaste, it tells you to call poison control center.

There's as much flouride in a 8 oz glass of water as there is in a pea sized toothpaste.
