South Africa is a developed country homie. I find it strange as hell as to why people whould donate to South Africa, which is modern and rich as hell compared to the other African nations.

Maybe, but the people where living in Shacks in Mbekweni, I did as part of the Niall Mellon Township Trust, They do work allover Africa,
I had to do a sky dive to raise Money and all to go.....

I guess the idea is nice to actually go, but I know people that went for humintarian reasons in the past and were escorted around with fully armed soldiers.

Haiti is not a joke.

Often your donation helps much more than going there because one of the biggest complaints I've heard from social workers and the like is people want to help but they are useless in the actual event and contribute to the disorganization more than anything.

Relief efforts need to be completely coordinated efforts to be effective and something that should be left to the professionals who have done this before or have training.

Nice idea though, in theory. The financial contribution helps the most.

No he said its not worth it to go over there. He's got a job and kids which he finds more important. Thats fine, but he doesn't want to go he made that decision so no need to tell everyone you want to go. He should have just made a thread saying I donated to Haiti, but then he'd look like he expected praise for it.

Its so hard to watch them kids and women struggle like they are,
not only going through rubble for Family members but for food.....
Its heartbreaking
