Here's the deal, there is an aging generation of people that have been spoon fed propaganda and news through primarily, tv provided sources. As these news were generally unbiased they became lazy and stopped questioning things. Fast forward to today, these same people can't differentiate facts from misinformation, using their confirmation bias over critical thinking.

Then there's those of us that grew up wading through the internet while our brains were still developing, we learned how to question sources and dig past editorials. Hell we learned in school (the school certain people criticize and didn't attend) how to research and identify bias and opinions from factual evidence.

And then there's the natural cognitive decline of aging and environmental factors, like all the lead exposure y'all had. Unfortunately, boomers and gen x are experiencing cognitive decline and dementia at higher rates than any previous generation. And the worst part is, they don't even recognize it.

Simple rule for identifying misinformation...is it emotion or fact that is forming your opinion and can the facts be corroborated independent of source.
