Average doe.... last season they weren't as good (relatively speaking) but in the original post you made it sound like they have been average the whole period of winning 4 CL in 5 years and it was just Ronaldo dragging them through.
I mean you just said Barca are average.. they have Suarez.. Busquets.. Pique all top players also
Yes Ronaldos goals pretty much dragged them over the line.. Ronaldo out of that Madrid and they don't win much

Some of those Ajax players should stick around another 1 or 2 years rather than just bouncing and causing a Monaco-Esque exodus.
They’re quite a young group and have plenty of time. Great team to watch.Last edited by Caught Square; 05-08-2019, 02:56 PM.

They’ve had terrible signings as of late. Gomes, Dembele, Coutinho, Turan, Umititi, the Colombian cb they got rid of prior to the season.
They need to go back to the Masia for player development

They went a bit crazy following the sale of Neymar.... thinking Coutinho would be a long term replacement for Iniesta they aren't even remotely the same style and it's a shame because he's a quality player but in a system/club that doesn't suit him at all. At least the £140m we received for him was a highway robbery.

However, contrary to popular belief. Barcelona don't need Messi at all. Even when he misses games, they have a high percentage of wins without him than with him.
Now that sample size isn't really fair because Messi hardly misses any games. Maybe a handful of games a season but Barcelona still win, still win the league, and still dominate Real Madrid without Messi in the lineup.
Seriously, just look at this season. Without Messi, Barcelona went 5-1 against Real Madrid. With Messi? 1-0, 3-0, 1-1.
With or without him, Barcelona win and win fairly comfortable. Sure they aren't as majestic but they still dominate still win. While Real Madrid look exactly like their place in the table without Ronaldo. That's with Benzema being #2 in scoring in the league behind Messi.
