And also why it isn't necessary to demonstrably prove something to that degree in order to be cleared of cheating.
The testing teams and the athletes being tested are all fallible human beings who sometimes make mistakes. Any system which doesn't allow for basic human fallibility is un...Last edited by kafkod; Yesterday, 04:18 PM.

Ok. The kind of demonstrable proof that you seem to be talking about, which would require time machines and human beings tiny enough to pass through the needle of a syringe while wearing microscopic scuba diving gear so they don't drown in blood samples, is not a realistic proposition....Last edited by kafkod; Yesterday, 01:49 PM.

That's not how it works.
Samples are taken, they are analysed and the results are announced. Then a team of experts examine all the relevent evidence, interview all the relevant people, and make a decision on whether cheating has occurred or not....

Nobody is presumed to be guilty of cheating till the test results have been examined by a team of experts....

Wrongly listed ingredients and contamination can both be demonstrably proved. Sometimes, circumstancial evidence can be so strong the examiners decide that demonstrable proof isn't necessary....Last edited by kafkod; Yesterday, 12:43 PM.

If a banned substance is found as an unlisted ingredient or contaminant in food or supplements an athlete has consuming, they will be cleared.
They have to take all reasonable precautions to avoid ingesting banned substances. Expecting them to send everything...

I think that's true. He let Ryan get in his head and wind him up, which probably wouldn't have happened if he'd had a calm level headed trainer, instead of his hot headed dad....champion4ever likes this.

Bioidentical testosterone and HGH are produced naturally in the human body. If they were banned substances then no fit, healthy athlete would ever pass a PED test. Ingesting them as a supplement, without a TUE, is illegal but the only way to test for that is by applying thresholds. There are no thresholds...Last edited by kafkod; Yesterday, 08:23 AM.

Testosterone and HGH are not banned substances. You just said yourself that you can only test positive for them by testing above the threshold. There is no threshold for banned substances. They are illegal in any amount. The question then is, can you prove you didn't ingest them deliberately and took...

Not so. Many athletes have been banned for elevated levels of stuff like HGH and testosterone, which are not banned substances because they occur naturally in the body. It's the amount of the substance in their system that indicates cheating.
And even if they get popped for actual banned...

Testing positive basically just means that you provide a test result that could indicate PED abuse and needs investigating.
Benefit of the doubt basically just means that you are given a chance to prove that you didn't cheat before you are banned. If there was no benefit of the doubt you...Last edited by kafkod; 05-02-2024, 04:32 PM.

However you want to spin it, fighters who fail PED tests are not considered to be guilty and punished unless they are found to be guilty after an investigation. And several have been cleared after failing tests....

Beterbiev was flagged for atypical levels of HGH and androstanediol before he fought Callum Smith. Because both substances occur naturally in the body he was given the benefit of the doubt and there were no repercussions.
All of the fighters I listed failed tests and then were cleared after...Last edited by kafkod; 05-02-2024, 02:16 PM.

Yep. Luis Ortiz, Dillian Whyte x2, BJS, Oscar Valdez, Alycia Baumgardner, Beterbiev, all popped dirty in tests and were cleared of cheating after investigations....

I know. And like I said in my comment, to me, that is cheating. But it's form of cheating that guys can get away with if the opponent decides to fight them anyway....
