Why, you ask? At this moment Arturo Gatti is embroilled in a lawsuit over the weight issue. He had a habit of pumping up his muscles, then dehydrating to make weight. Apparently one of his victims is suing him for it. If these lawsuits continue sooner or later the trainers will get implicated. Buddy McGrit ought to be ashamed of himself for allowing Gatti to dehydrate 20 pounds to make weight. If Gatti died in the ring, guess who will get blamed? Admittedly Gatti is a particularly extreme case of the ******ity of modern training, however most of the deaths in boxing are a result of dehydration. And the fact is these kids wouldn't have to resort to dehydrating themselves if they weren't pumping iron. In every other sport dehydration is considered to be dangerous, in boxing it is considered to be normal!
