Always keep your dog on your left side, teach him that. When he tries to cross, give him a firm NO! and a quick tug/jerk at his leash. Be consistent whenever he does this, he'll eventually get the message. Dogs learn by consistent patterns.

But, you have to learn the proper way of holding a leash, cuz if you hold your leash incorrectly, telegraphing information to your dog through the leash becomes impossible.

There's lots of info on how to properly hold the leash and run with a dog, just Google them.

Just as a point of interest, wolves, which are nothing more than wild dogs, often run 50 miles a night......

u guys who run with ur dogs...are they well trained?

because if they suddenly get out of control and attack someone, u could get in serious trouble

My dog behaves pretty well, but i still keep him on a leash at all times during a run .
