    1. When throwing hooks to the body is it best to change levels, bend at the knees and throw it or remain upright? I was taught to do this with straights to the body, but not sure about hooks.
    2. I was taught to throw hooks to the head with the palm down, thumb facing me. What about when throwing hooks to the body? Palm turned down, or palm facing towards you and thumb up?
Palm facing you. Forget the palm facing down thing. It's just a form thing for new guys. All the power is palm facing you unless you Trinidad.

I'd say to get low and hit, you dont wanna get nailed with a straight while you're delivering the hook + it will probably feel awkward too

"Get low and dig, who wants to be standing tall if nailed by a right hand" - Post #2 in this thread.

You feel every body shot. Of course the cleaner it lands the better. But just focus on throwing them in a manner where they land without taking any return damage.

Body shots should never be forced. With experience you will develop instincts to know when the body us open based on how your opponent is guarding and moving.
