ALPHA-KETOGLUTARATE (AKG), a body building supplement. Anybody use it?

There were several articles recently about AKG extending the lifespan of mice. Probably because it fights inflammation. I'm wondering if there are any other benefits of the kind that would cause bodybuilders to use it. The mice in the study didn't see any kind of athletic type improvement.

Learn more about ALPHA-KETOGLUTARATE (AKG) uses, effectiveness, possible side effects, interactions, dosage, user ratings and products that contain ALPHA-KETOGLUTARATE (AKG).

    sounds safe enough, I think.

This is a version available at GNC. According to the research I've dug up, it doesn't do as advertised. It isn't going to give your workouts a boost except maybe as a placebo.
NO(2) Platinum increased plasma L-arginine levels; however, the effects observed in hemodynamics, brachial-artery blood flow, and NOx can only be attributed to the resistance exercise.

Nevertheless, I was more interested in using it for anti-inflammatory purposes (though a boost in physical performance would have been a nice plus). The more I read the more I'm convinced that inflammation in your body is a real accelerant of aging. The mice in that recent study I posted the link to just boosts my belief.

I did. Too soon to tell if it’s going to be as effective as the ginger powder I’ve been using.

Awhile back I started taking ginger and turmeric, in place of my usual ibuprofen, with really good results.

It certainly won't be that fat Anorak to try it first.

I'm about half way through the jar and it seems to be effective as an anti-inflammatory, which is what I was looking for. So far as a boost in athletic performance, strictly speaking, I haven't noticed any. The boost in performance for me is being able to workout everyday with minimal muscle and joint soreness.

The link below takes you to a study and also to links for previous studies.

How has the ginger powder been effective for you? Bought some in the last couple weeks but just cuz I'm lazy about slicing up ginger sometimes. How much/how often do you use it?

That turmeric stuff doesn't hit well with my taste buds or I'd be using that.
