  • Ball of foot vs flat foot. Kenny Weldon

From Kenny Weldon I learned you should keep your back foot flat and your front pointed, I prefer this and it makes a lot of sense to me to keep your shoulders spine head in alignment. However what I dont undersatnd is hwen you are in your stance/rythem you oabviously have to shift your weight to your front leg a lot of the time, so is the back foot holding the weight for the jab an 'ideal' situation vs something that is true all the time?

Also what situations are allowed for each

    both feet flat-
both feet on balls of toes-
back foot flat, front foot on ball-
front foot on ball, font foot flat-

    LOl, neighter.

Front foot is flat and back foot is on the metatarsus or the ball of the foot.

If there was a "right" answer, we wouldn't have styles. Listen to your coach and develop fundamentals of some sort. When you learn a set of comprehensive basics and practice them for a year, you can branch out and discover what works best for you.
If you don't have a coach, get one, at least for a little while You can't see what you're doing wrong, which is why everyone needs a coach.

Stance is way too wide and feet are way too narrow. That kid would easily get pushed off balance.

That's David Lemieux in the video, and Russ Anber is one of the most coveted modern coaches.

But hey, that's the beauty of styles.

The way Russ Anber is having Lemieix stand is the way I do it, with the back heel raised up.

Is there video of the Kenny Weldon stance?

                  Front foot on the ball?

What would even be the point of that?

Rear foot flat and front on the ball is a stance for a fighting style which employs kicks...not boxing.
