    Shoulder roll worked!

Ok so I'm not sparring in a gym anymore, just with ex amateurs in my back garden. But I've been practicing the Philly shell style for a few weeks and I finally pulled off an effective shoulder roll against a straight right. Didn't lean back so was in balance and therefore able to land a counter straight right of my own...bam!
Sorry I'm happy it worked as I ****** at this defence style for a while so thought I'd share. Hope ur training is going well

The shoulder roll does not work, you are still being hit so it is a fail......slipping or finding someway to not be hit at all by the thrown punch is what works.

The shoulder roll does not work? You talking cavemen fighting with clubs or are you talking about boxing?

You'll never roll every right hand that you attempt to roll with, nobody will, especially if you are relatively inexperienced. You learn by having the balls and confidence in yourself to let a man fire a right hand for your face. To get good at it you must TRY it, some times you'll roll it, others you might eat.

Spray Resistants theory of life: If at first you don't succeed......forget about it....... try something else.

Everything takes time, especially in this sport. Step off of the boys nutz.

Actually, yes it is Robbie that would be called adapting to a situation not just walking into a wall and keep trying to walk through it until the wall gives way.
