  • Hey Paulie, Want to Kick Broners Butt? Heres what you need to do.

If Paulie is in shape than he definately has the tools to beat Broner. Paulie should F/with Broner. Paulie should make him lead, take Broner out of his comfort zone, make him initiate every exchange for the beggining rounds. For acouple of rounds Paulie should just back out of range every time Broner comes in while working his fast jab and fast feet to keep him at bay. Get Broner over zealous and I bet ya he gets careless and begins swinging for the fences because he's so irritated, if not embaressed, that he cant catch Paulie. He's going to leave himself wide open, and while Paulie may not carry atomic bombs he is a fast 'sharp shooter' and will be strong enough to hurt Broner.

When Paulie wants to attack in the later rounds after Broner tires in his pursuit of Paulie, aswell as from his punches missed, Paulie could then begin attacking if he chose to. Firing straight right hands he needs to get Broner on his back foot while Broners doing the old shoulder roll to block the right hand. While Paulie is launching the right hand he brings his right foot past Broners lead foot and he starts ripping hooks while cointinuing to circle behind Broner. Broner will at that point be one step behind Paulie, stuck on his back foot, and basically at Paulies mercy. Sometimes dig alot of hooks while rolling around him, then sometimes get the step ahead and then just push him from behind, he'll be very off balance to begin with and it would be like pushing a kid on the playground (Paulie could do that 5 times before disqualification, he should use them all if he can.) Sometimes just bump your shoulder into him from behind and bust him with more hooks while rolling to your right. It could be an easy night (relatively speaking) if Paulie uses his speed in the right way. Paulie definately has the speed to pull this off, either that or Paulie gets KTFO..........Rockin'

Sounds good in theory, though realistically Paulie is about a decade older and is known to both fatigue and slow down in the second half of fights as well as hurt his hands in just about every scrap. The more speedy he tries to come out early, the more tired he will get later.

Though, if stamina didnt exist I think Paulie could definitely outbox Broner... but unfortunately it does.

The key, if he's in shape.

The strategy about making Broner initiate everything would allow Paulie to breathe, it's a very slow paced fight that the crowd might not dig at the time but could be hugely succesfull against Broner....... Rockin'

Paulie comes in shape, he has gone the distance in almost all of his fights so I don't think that's even an issue.

I don't like your strategy at all, being a counter puncher and slowing the pace down benefits Broner all the way. Paulie needs to be first, use the jab and keep it in his face. He needs to fire from distance and keep moving. If he allows the pace to slow down, he will fall into what Broner likes to do best.

The only way he will win this fight is if he out points and out hustles Broner but he's at risk of getting hit all night. I think Paulie might win a lot of the early rounds, but in the later rounds Broner walks him down and punishes him.

Broner by UD or even stoppage IMO.

With all due respect, that's exactly what Broner wants. I have to disagree with you on this one. Pull Broner out of his comfort zone and make him reach for you while he's trying to initiate something, anything. If Paulie uses his legs, scores his shots, rolls out and works him like that Broner will fall apart right in front of your eyes. Paulie needs to never stand to trade with this guy, keep it moving.................. Rockin'

Yea but remember Rockin, Broner is a natural counter puncher and I don't think he will come forward. So if the pace is slowed down, then I see Broner winning the pot shot battle.

I just don't see in that scenario where Paulie would win or have the advantage. I think he needs to be first, shoot the jab often and move, move, move. Speed it up to a higher pace, out point Broner, almost turn it into an amateur style fight.

            Broner has great accuracy.

The part about Paulie throwing hooks is where you lost me.

After a couple of minutes and/ or rounds, Broner is going to decide whether or not he can take Paulie's punch well enough to just start walking in.

If the answer is yes, there is nothing that Paulie can do at that point but try to keep Broner off of him long enough to make it to the final round. He'll do that with footwork, jabs and tying up on the inside.

If the answer is no, based on what we've seen so far from Broner, Paulie can keep him off-balance and score all night with his jab. This means Broner would have to hope for Paulie to wear down a bit so Paulie starts fighting him more flat-footed as the time would be ticking for Broner to get a come from behind stoppage.

Most likely, as Broner isn't prone to swell, he finds that he can take Paulie's punch, doesn't have to stay at range and begins that steady body/head attack for as long as it takes to start unbuttoning Paulie's resolve.

For all the criticism of his footwork, Broner is very good at cutting off the ring and putting fighters in a position where they feel they have to exchange with him. Eventually, those exchanges turn to them covering up as he picks them apart. I think that will happen to Paulie no later than the 8th round if Broner is still himself at 147.

If you draw him out with fients he will certainly come forward.

As I said Paulie will have to be in good shape and use his legs.

The best thing to do against a counter puncher is to MAKE thm initiate the exchanges. It's like pulling a vampire into sun;ight, they'll freak out. The crowd may boo, make him initiate........ Rockin'

Exactly, very well said and I see it the same way. Broner is very good at walking people down and/or sitting on the outside and just pot shotting them.

You will need more than feints my friend, Broner is not a ****** fighter. Paulie will have to work for this one, it won't be that easy. Also, making counter punchers come at you, is easier said than done. Broner will be patient, walk him down, hit him from the outside and try and hurt Paulie.
