I played little league hockey for a few years but I would never make a website claiming any expertise on the sport. The guy simply does not know how to work on one.
That site is what you get when you dabble in a sport, which is what many of these so called experts and new trainers do. They really don't know the sport. Trainers with no fights ever or any real gym experience buy a license from the state and think that they are now legitimate trainers, or even worse are the boxing aerobic teachers that believe that because they teach these classes that they know how to fight/train a fighter. 95 out of 100 of these so called trainers don't know ****, Ive spent time around these kind of traners and they suck.
The old school trainers are dying off leaving us with jokers with trainer certificates. My trainer was old school to the 'T', I learned it the right way.
The only reason that the heavy bag would suck is that it will tire you out pretty fast. But then again, if you're doing it right, everything that you do in your workout should tire you out.
I'll post up 8 reasons why the heavybag kicks ass. That guy who wrote those 8 reasons why the heavybag sucks is probably one of these know nothing/done nothing trainers trying to make a profound point. The only thing that stands out is his lack of knowledge on the heavy bag.... Rockin'

totally agree rockin, for me the whole idea behind hitting the bag is to strengthen up all the hand/wrist/shoulder joints and tendons ect and doubles as one of the hardest cardio workouts you can do. also i boxed on an unlicensed show the other day, so spent the whole day talking to trainers and other boxers, and was just suprised how little alot of them knew about boxing. im from england, and its ashame i think because boxing has never got much media attention over here and most of the best fights over the years have been on at 3-4 in the morning over here. but it seemed even the ones that wernt talking **** only really knew about domestic fighters and what they read in the papers. the quality of boxing on the show wasnt that good. i was just surprised, some of these guys had been into boxing years longer than me, but they learn a certain amount about boxing, then just worry about cardio rather than constantly trying to keep learning about boxing.

First of all everything doesnt come down to floyd mayweather. Its hilarious to me how apparently everyone hit the bags and pads a certain way because of him.
Truth is fighters always worked the bag in different ways. Power is just one thing you can use the bag for so you shouldnt always focus on juat that. Most rounds on the bag you should box as if you had an opponent in front of you in a real fight situation. In which case you should mix up everything about your punches power included.
Unless you are working strictly on power and stamina you should mix in some lighter punches. I only watched the berto video, but he was throwing some hard punches in there. Just not every single one, thats how it should be most of the time.

its a stamina thing. kind of a replacement for the speed bag. you punch punch punch punch punch then he will rip a few hard ones to teach your body how to throw hard when your tired. even the way he hits mitts its only for timing and stamina.
