            Today my trainer took me to a different gym so that I can get some good sparring in with an amateur around my size and weight. I sparred with a young guy (around 20-21 years old) who competes in the 165lb class and was about 6 feet 2 inches tall. Right now I am walking at 191lbs and am 6 feet tall. Both of us are southpaws.

            Anyhow, I was taken to school today. After the second round, my gas tank was on empty but I was able to muster up some energy for the third round. By the time the fourth round came, I was pretty much done.

            He caught me with some solid punches to the head and body. His jab was landing almost at will. I have a lot of work to improve upon. In particular, head movement, defending against the jab, and throwing more punches especially to the body, are all areas that need to be worked on daily. Conditioning is another area that I must dedicate time to outside of the gym.
