A good multi-vitamin is all you need.

Try sorting your diet out using solid foods, you'll gain a lot better than you will from a poor diet & a load of overpriced supplements, its as simple as that really.

I always hear ''my diet is good'' reality is if it was you'd making good gains and wouldn't need supplements or anything else.

What is your daily diet like?

Pretty much all rubbish and why would you recommend a fat burner to a guy saying he is bulking?
This could be a tested athlete and on your recommendations could of made him fail a drug test with the ingredients in jack3d & I believe OxyElite also contains DMAA.

Dan, right on fam thanks for the advice.
Honestly, I don't really keep up with a certain diet, I'm horrible at that & I know I should be but I eat different things at random times. I will however stick to my Syntha 6 protein. But what about a pre-workout supp?

Being consistent with your diet is the hardest aspect IMO but the most crucial. Once you start letting your diet go you tend to lose motivation and it becomes a real struggle & you end up eating & drinking a load of rubbish & everything goes out the window. If you have a busy schedule buy some tuppa-tub boxes and plan your meals out for on the go.
            Nuts, chicken sandwiches etc

I've tried just about every pre-workout on the planet and tbh with you I don't really rate any of them.
Most just bloat you, give you jitters, a bad crash & they're packed with crap & your body gets used to them which means you tend to up the dose and when you're consuming 600mg+ of caffeine from a pre-workout it can't be doing you much good nevermind all the other ingredients on top. Most these days just make you feel like you're on crack or something.

I tend to find a light meal one hour before my workout does the job perfectly.
150g of chicken, handful of blueberries & lentils (protein, carbs, zinc, potassium, B vits, magnesium)

BSN Syntha 6 is a good protein blend.

A good multi-vitamin and if you're really struggling to get in the calories & such, a good whey and oats are ideal.

                must have?

                water

supplements in the sense you're talking are not a "must have."

if you're looking to gain weight you should eat more, try and lift heavier weight each week (or at least orient yourself that way,) and get plenty of rest. drink gobs of water.

i use GNC protein. tastes fine, gets the job done. it's pretty substantial when you mix it with milk.

if you care to use it, i'd suggest higher quality creatine, as opposed to something you might buy at walmart.

as dancov boxer alluded to, a multivitamin is a good thing to be taking. if you're eating a perfect diet year round you honestly wont need one, but that's very hard, and can be expensive and time consuming. for people with a regular life, who cant always eat the way they should, a multivitamin is probably a good idea.

if you want to gain weight my most broad piece of advice will always be to eat more.

                  1. Who said supplements are supposed to replace a good diet? They are supposed to SUPPLEMENT a good diet. How do people never get that concept?

                  2. Why can you not use a fat burner while bulking? I'm constantly cutting/bulking for sports, and I use OEP with great results for both. Helps me keep the fat off and sweat more in the gym.

                  3. I'm in the NCAA, I play football. We are tested routinely. I have never had any failed tests before. Tell me what banned ingredients there are, because that is news to me and half the NCAA athletes who use OEP and 90% of the NCAA athletes who use Jack3d.

Also, for anyone, bulk or cut, I'd recommend 16/8 intermittent fasting.

Oh yeah, just looked, they're on there. So obviously wouldn't recommend them OP. I'll still take them though. If I get caught, oh well. It's not like I'm taking steroids or anything.

It's a thermogenic and an energy booster, it helps me in the gym.
