    concussion

So Basically I took a layoff, then sparred with my friend who's training to be a pro. He's pretty good.

    I'm 5'6 135 and he's 6'3 200.

That sounds ****** right there. Well he's ****** too.

I took a nice right hook to the chin and got wobbled, but instantly retaliated and thought nothing of it.

well by the next day I had a head ache and ive had one for 4 days now, not in any particular area, just a dull head ache and ive been tired. My sister felt bad for the usually active me just being bedridden so she took me out too a restaurant with her boyfriend. The light made me nausiated so I asked to leave.

I don't have any memory loss, I wasn't knocked out and honestly wasn't dizzy after the blow (besides the initial shock).

All I have is this sick feeling and a dull head ache.

Clearly a concussion but rather weird side effects. How long will this last, it's kind of just lingering on day 4.

My friend is an utter dumbass and doesn't see the size different between us, he's like a cave man. I hit him good and he retaliated, clearly doesn't see the difference. Or maybe I'm a dumbass for sparring with him. Oh yeah, no head gear. Now I'm sounding really ******.

generally if you have a concussion you know it. it sounds like you have a very minor concussion. i'm going off of the description of your symptoms and more importantly the timeline.

i've never had one personally but i've been around them a good deal at this stage

bad concussions almost always involve a loss of consciousness, and a lack of memory of the tramatic event and the events before or after. you said that you wobbled but fired right back, right? and that you remember everything?
all good signs for your case.

did you finish the round? did you go any additional rounds?
did you stay at the gym and hit the bags or shadowbox or anything?

        i'd check your pupils
concussions generally dilate your pupils, meaning they mess with their ability to filter out light. if you hold a flashlight to a healthy pupil it will shrink to compensate for the excess light. if you hold a light to the pupil of somebody who is concussed it will not react normally, either taking far too long to shrink, or not shrink at all.

obviously if you have insurance you want to get to a hospital and get checked out, get a baseline set of images of your brain, etc.

they usually monitor these things over time, especially for athletes

        good luck, buddy
i've seen careers end via the concussion and i've also seen folks live out their lives normally and return to athletics at 100%

dude, get to a&e an get checked out. it's not the concussion that does the damage, you don't know what damage may of occurred. Don't think of it as an over reaction. When it comes to head injuries you should always air on the side of caution so please go get checked out.

you probably strained a muscle or ligaments in your neck. I still get headaches from boxing for that very reason. Muscle relaxers take care of that.......Rockin'

or he took a flush punch on the chin from a HW when he's a LW and it gave him a minor head injury

a hell of a lot more likely if you know what a head injury looks like.

Ah head injuries are for *******. Big bad Rockin just shrugs em off and carries on fighting cause Rockin fought all of five fights as a pro about twenty years ago and knows everything there is to know. Plus, if his guy fought your guy then his guy would batter your guy all around the ring. Your guy would use silly things like having a head injury or not being able to walk without being in severe pain as an excuse not to train while his guy would have ignored the pain and come out both mentally and physically stronger from it and emerge as a winner.

                  Aint that right Rockin?
