Hypethetically, you join the army and are sent to boot camp. They bust your ass the first day and getting up the next morning you find yourself sore and in pain. So you tell the drill seargant that you are really sore.

Will he say, "you worked hard yesterday and your body needs a break so go ahead and take the day off. Make sure you tell me when you feel good enough to rejoin the boot camp squad."

Or will he laugh in your face and tell you that your mommy is not running this camp but that he runs it. He'll then tell you to be in formation when called and you will do it all again as sore as you may be or you'll end up in the brigg.

The army raises soldiers, not puzzies.

A good trainer will raise a soldier, not a whining b!tch.........Rockin'

I think alot of people know what the **** they are talking about on this site. but as stated before some things dont or cant apply to some people. Rockin i agree with your mindset. i dont ever want to lose a fight, and there is always someone out there that is bigger badder or works harder. and this is the mindset i take to the gym everyday. I think some of the people are seein you say you gotta work thru it, not understanding that you too had limits, and yours were higher, for whatever reason. There was probably a time when you were 14 n struggled. Obviously you didnt get there over night. Which is what alot of people want and fail to mention. Also they may not understand that you understand that they may not be pro or even amateur, but that youre motivating them to get to where they wanna be. Just because i read your posts and find them inspiring doesnt mean im gonna get up tomorrow morning n run 10 miles, hit the speed bag for an hour, heavy bag for an hour, jump rope for an hour, shadow box for an hour, slip bag for an hour and so on and so forth lol. but i am still gonna work hard and push myself with hopes that one day i can be in supreme shape and compete at a reputable level. As many have stated in way too many words before, this is all relative to your current state. just dont cut yourself short. or you will get your a** knocked out.

-there is no difference between a hero and a coward. At least in how they feel. You must have the discipline too go out there and do what a hero does, or the so called hero. -Cus D'amato-

all I can say is that if you quit when you are sore than you aren't going to get very far in this sport. The sport is all about pain and working through it..........Rockin'

Very very very true. For all you guys who havent trained or lack experience. You will know the difference between a stress fracture or lactic acid (just an example). If the pain is local in one specific area, get it checked out. If both calves and quads are burning from runnin 30 minutes well thats different. push as hard as you can, stretch, put the proper fuel in your body, rest, and tomorrow work out hard again. Nobody ever got great at anything overnight. This sport is all about pain, every aspect, training, fighting, winning, losing. You're gonna get hurt. N the minute you quit because youre tired, or drop your guard, or quit punching, is the minute the lights go out.

One week off from intense training every 8 weeks. Maintain general fitness. Don't listen to the idiot telling you to push on.

I should have taken that advice when I was training in my prime. I came down with a ton of injuries for training through them.
