I mean if George Chuvalo did it, i think i can do it too. He had one of the greatest chins of all time.

well, yeah. that's why i said if it did, it'd probably a small increase in punch resistance. but nothing like going from Hatton's chin to Mosley's.

when you get hit on "the button" you get knocked out because on the other side of your face your jaw bone is jammed into a nerve.

sooo like if you get hit on the tip of the chin on your right side, on the left side back near you ear the jaw bone is pinching a large nerve.

by keeping your teeth clenched you help preventing your jaw from pinching the nerve and by chewing gum you increase how hard and how long you can clench your teeth.

but really the strength of your jaw only plays a role when your getting hit on the button, get hit any where else on the head and you better have a strong neck/shoulders.

Instead of chewing or lifting weights with your mouth you should focus on the jaw's coordination by doing exercises for its dexterity. Start by tying your shoe laces with your teeth and move up to tying knots in cherry stems. I don't necessarily recommend blowing dudes, but my coach said it's really useful so I've made it part of my routine.
does de la hoya also happen to be your coach?

getting 'knocked out' (which medically means you got a concussion) has nothing to do with hitting some mystery 'nerve'. you're talking out of your ass.

            The trigeminal nerve.

when you get hit on the tip of the left side of your chin the right side of your jaw under your ear pinches the **** out of this never causing intense pain and making you pass the **** out.

please stop talking out your ass.

as you can see in the 5th post there are also several other nerves and aterys located diretly behind the jaw.

its a nerve center very similar to the solar plexus.
