    Speaking generally, no.

    What exactly is "hurting" when you do squats?

    Because it's probably form related. If that is the case, try box squatting instead to help get your form down.

          [QUOTE=bearman3000;9601744]No insurance. Will cycling hurt?[/QUOTE

          Dont think so.... And last time I asked they told me that your hamstrings need to be 60% of what you do with your quads ..... example if you do 100lbs on knee extension you need to do 60lb on flexion

              If they are very weak to begin with, then yes, to some point.

              BTW, knee and leg injuries are something to be check by a doctor.

                A couple of things:

                IT Band Syndrome is usually caused by overuse and/or weakness in the core supporting areas such as the hips and glutes. It's not so much an imbalance like what causes chondomalacia of the patella (runner's knee) where the hamstrings overpower the quads and pull on the patella.

                The best things to do to relieve the pain are stretching, massage- if you can't afford a LMT, try using a foam roller. Also elastic bands that work your legs outward.

                Finally, if you do bike, try doing fast intervals as opposed to long slow sessions which can cause more pain. I personally like bikes that utilize air resistance as opposed to magnetic or friction. The air resistance bikes feel more like riding an actual bike.

                  and the short fast intervals will also bulk up your legs more then long slow sessions.

                    I developed this strange sharp pain in my knee due to over use of muathai kicks. I think the pivoting action did me in.

                    You guys are all awesome man and I appreciate your thoughts and concerns, hell thanks a ton!!!
