i am a Personal Trainer and i box amateur, i cant believe some of the so called advice in this thread!
in no way whatsoever will weight training be detrimental or make you bigger, slower without them goals being your intention. Muscles are not put on in the weight room they are put on in the kitchen! you want to get big you adjust your diet and eat for size.
seriously there is no reason why people cannot Box and weight train!

People are still stuck on the old school ways of training and the myths weight lifting will make you slow.

and if wlad lifts he does it intelligently, as purported multiple times through out the thread, with only a few weighted exercises and used only as a weekly or monthly supplement to his daily boxing routine.
actually looking at the actual routine he only lifts weights for the first 3 weeks and more so as a supplement so the muscles are ready to take the brunt of the training in the last 5 weeks.Last edited by Spartacus Sully; 08-10-2010, 04:13 AM.
