  • I'm 13 going to fight a 17 year old, need help

I'm a member f a local Providence, Rhode Island boxing gym since October 2004. My trainers think i'm great, and i do also. But they think i'm so great, they want me to fight a 17 year old 130 pounder. I'm around 115, and i'm 13. I think i can beat anyone around my weight and age, but a 130 pound 17 year old, i need advice.

well like what Biggie told me: stick and move, stick and move

.... maybe you wont get it, 'gimmie the loot' was like '94 so you were like 3 years old.

anyway, just train hard, keep your head up, you know.. use the force, the whole nine

honestly i would not do it

at age 13 you shouldnt even be sparring unless you want to be a punchy 25 year old..your brain is still developing you need to learn as much as you can in school, knowledge does indeed carry over to the ring, believe me.especially math, math improves logistics in everything you will do in life

just develop insane punching power and technique.. when you are around 15 or 16 start sparring you will be an absolute FORCE if yo dedicate yourself.. i started hitting a bag at 16 dedicated, i can only imagine how much better i would be if i started at like age 5 or something.

u asking for a beating if u take the fite. u only young, take step by step. for those who are 17 or older on this forum, we know the maturity and strength difference between an average 17 yr old and 13 yr old.
guys think about it. if a 17 yr old version of yaself fought a 13 yr old version of yaself? how would the fite go?

Well, I don't see how a match would be set up like this in the first place. What is there to prove? If I were the 17 year old, I would decline a fight against a 13 year old even if it would be an even match. If he wins, does he feel good that he might be a senior in HS and he beat a 7th or 8th grader?

I think boxing for 13 year olds is bad.....
16 years old would be a good age to ease into it.

I think this is BS too. I am sure there are plenty of 115 lb. 13 year olds to fight.
