I enjoyed taking creatine and if I were to start heavy lifting ever again I would use it.
Boxers don't want to retain water weight and most boxers do not do weight lifting.

water retention is an age old myth for creatine. the creatine products or at least the most common brands and the form its in today does not cause excessive water retention. maybe in some lower quality off brands or older products but not with todays stuff.

I know this from personal experience. I took MRI's creatine a ways back. It gives you rediculous stamina. You don't get muscle fatigue as quick which results in longer training, which may get you better results.
I retained no water weight as well. You don't get a bloated look, you don't increase mass unless you exercise for mass increasing.
I don't take it anymore but it's only for two reasons.1) I haven't baught another bottle of the MRI's creatine
2) I'm not the type who remembers to take it all the time, so it sort of turns into a chore to remember to take it before workouts.

My stack consisted of a creatine ester ethyl (gaspari sizeon), no (gaspari superpump), and a regular old creatine monohydrate, on top of on whey and a muscle milk here and there.
I'm not going to get into the age old debate but I will tell you I've debated this with a few know it all kid that reads something online, but never stuck with lifting and never had any kind of size and speak from hear say.

lol, were you training for size increasing?
I took MRI's CE2, I didn't stack it. I was using EAS whey at the time as well. I didn't bloat up or anything, didn't retain water at all. But my work out consisted of more aerobic than anaerobic.
I played CB in high school and some college so I was up to 181 at the time for obvious reasons. Then I took MRI's creatine and would take EAS whey so I don't lose too much muscle strength and got down to 153 in like 4 months. No water retention or nothing but I didn't lift much, more body weight and just a ton of cardio. So i problably sweated out a ton of water as well.
Maybe it was just your workout routine? Because mine was predominant aerobic with bodyweight anaerobic. And if I used weights it was small weight, many reps.

I got a big tub of this stuff, but atm im gaining ok without it, ill use it when i stop making gains.
I don't see why a boxer would use it, unless they were going up in weight and needed to gain mass.

the one i take and have taken for over a year with a 3-5 day isolation lifting split. even did the 4-5 day loading which was 4 servings (5g per serv) per day and after the load phase doing 1 serving pre and 1 serving post workout and i have not had any bloating or side effects or water retention aside from gaining pumps from that workout day but subsides later that day which is completely normal for anyone that lifts weights and achieves a pump. i have been lifting for over 4 years and have for over a year now been taking this creatine product along with no2 and a protein powder and i have never had any drastic weight increases aside from actual muscle mass. I have also used it for conditioning and in training during muay thai and again it hasnt caused me any type of extra weight gain or water retention.
everyone is different and could possibly be effected with some sort of side effect but the athletes that use these products including professional fighters would not take creatine if it caused any type of side effect that would negatively effect their body in their specific sport especially those that rely on cutting weight.

Anyway, I don't see why a boxer would use creatine when the entire point of it is to build mass (which is what i believe the water weight is), and to help squeeze out a few extra reps in the gym. Maybe it's only with the ester ethyl creatine (cee).
If you do take creatine and you notice that you personally aren't holding any water, then you should monitor your body and look for any cramping or muscle soreness as a result of dehydration. I think it's a fact that taking creatine will require more water intake than if you weren't on creatine. I was drinking much more water just to stay hydrated. If it wasn't going into the muscles then I don't know where it was going

creatine isn't pro dominantly used just for building mass. just like you said about using it to squeeze out a few more reps. why can one do this if they were taking creatine? because creatine is used as a form of energy which not only can aid in building size but also increase muscle stamina, decrease muscle recovery time during rest periods and increase strength. who wouldn't want to their muscles to last longer and to recover faster and to be stronger? people need to realize that creatine has evolved from being used by meat heads to athletes looking to get to another level of athleticism and fitness.
its honestly not that hard to get a hold of a good brand of creatine. talk to your doctor, look up articles and studies and such online about it and decide if you want to take it. no one can tell you how your body will react to any supplement except you. one can go to a GNC, purchase the creatine, try it out for a couple of days to a few weeks and return it before emptied and before the return date deadline for a full refund if you dont like it.
