You can be a lot of things with hard work, dedication, and ambition. Natural attributes and genetics come into play later on. Work hard, eat right, stay dedicated and you have a shot.

If you try to teach yourself first, all you will do is create bad habits that the trainer will have to try and erase once you do decide to go to a gym. I grew up watching all kinds of videos and reading books, and they did not help for ****. My advice. Go to the gym on the weekend. Pack a lunch, take a bus early in the morning, train all you can, get a private lesson in, and go home. Practice what you picked up all week at home, then do the same thing next week. Do this again until you move closer to the gym and can start going on a daily basis. So what if you go into the gym as a noob;every single champion walked into a gym at some point and was a noob! You can make excuses all day, but there is always a way. You need a trainer to truly grasp even the basics when it comes to boxing, end of story.

go to a gym first you will forget everything the first time you step into a ring anyways so no point kidding yourself saying you can learn at home..lol
