I'm training at the Bergen County PAL with Frank Toledo Sr., father/trainer of former featherweight champion Frank Toledo Jr. Shaun George and lightweight prospect Danny McDermott are gonna help me get some things down as well once I start sparring in a couple of weeks.
I'm gonna fight probably at 152 but if I can get there and still take off some weight in a healthy way, I'll go to 141. Pretty much I just need to get in shape, that's the biggest part. I did a short 2 mile run today and did some preliminary training to get my overall fitness back together. I'm going to start sparring in about two weeks or so.

And in AM boxing this is my advice jab move jab move jab move, right hand move, jab move, jab move... etc... if one of those stunts him go after him.
Judges in the Amateurs look for that more than anything else.
Just my 2cents good luck mate its a great experience
It's the novice class, there's no way I'm going to get KO'ed like that lol. Maybe in the open class where it's a lot more dangerous but I'm very confident that the right training will protect me.

Day two of training was pretty tiring. It's not often that I'm exhausted before I hit the bag. I did 15 minutes of jumping rope to warm up, the two rounds of shadowboxing with five pound weights and two without. Then I hit the bag for three rounds and kept my punch count high. Then I did a round on the double end bag.
It's very hard to think when you're tired BTW, I want to put my punches together in combinations and they just don't come together when I'm tired.
I finished off with two rounds of jumping on a tire and a bunch of ab work.
I'm back in the gym tomorrow at 10AM. I've been doing roadwork by myself but 8-1 prospect Danny McDermott is going to start running with me on Monday.

first fight its a whole different experience men... you get tired just by standing in there because your heart will be racing ... ( at least mine was, haha it was crowded )
So as soon as the bell sounds try to throw the first punch, that will free your soul hahahaha And another golden rule if you get tired or something dont just cover and turn into a shell, referees in the amateurs stop the fights FAST.
Every time i fight somebody that curls and covers, i know its over, just let your hands go.
