  • Anyone else tried extended/prolonged fasting? I want to try for 10 days.

I have been pigging out a lot. A LOT. I've gained a lot of weight. I was 50.6kg a couple months ago, but now I'm like 60kg. I tried intermittent fasting, but I keep pigging out in the evening. Gyms reopen in the August, and I want to get to flyweight before that. I've done a 7 day fast a couple years ago and found it successful. So, I figured I'd do another master cleanse, and fast for 10 days this time. I will lose a lot of weight with 10 day fast. Talking about this plan officially will somehow give me accountability and gives me the willpower to stick with it I'm hoping. Even if I can't fast for the 10 whole days, my stomach will probably shrink a lot and I will probably end up eating much less than now.

Yeah, I know I'm going to lose muscles, not just fat. But I'm flyweight anyway. I don't need nor want too much muscles, which will make me heavier. I want to be taller than most my opponents. I'm decent, but I'm not "world class", and it's really hard to penetrate through reach from tall fighters. Let's cut down some weight. Today is June 20th. I will be eating again on June 30th. (Well, I'm hoping to.) I tried many other dieting methods including intermittent fasting, but nothing seems to work for me. So, I am doing again what worked for me before.

It absolutely sucks doing it for that long. I did it when I was 15 and on a vision quest to fight the national champ.

Discipline my boy. You will find that you have no energy while training, your stomach will shrink while fasting but with out discipline, you will make your stomach large again. Boxing is not just the gym and fights, it's about discipline, a way of life, when you're just sitting at home.

honestly seems like a good way to mess with the way your body was meant to function. I wouldn’t do it but plenty of people do.

                  My record is 5-days foodless

my regret was not pushing it to 6 days

be prepared for your physical performance to be sh111t starting on your 2nd or 3rd day of no food

You have a eating disorder, and your lazy and want shortcuts to your goals instead of putting the work in imo.

I train a variety of people, and every once in awhile I have to cut people like you who show me their true colors. You gained weight because you knowing over ate but couldn't stop yourself (no discipline), now you are lazy to actually get yourself on a workout plan/cardio plan, and diet to lose the weight so you want to fast to lose the weight. (shortcut/lazy). You have devoloped an unheatlhy relationship with your eating habits and you subconciously are fueling that because you think you can always "fast" your way out of it. Keep that up you will find yourself in some serious health problems.
