Pretty good for little training. Try not to turn your back on the bag. If that were another fighter, you just took a big shot to the back of the dome. Overall, good stuff my dude.

Started going to a gym stoped after my second class when i realized they were charging me 75$ month for 55 mins of pushups jump squats and sit ups with 5 mins of how to jab from an instructor that shows up 15 mins late regulary or atleast the 2 times i went he was late.

dont go to hatfeild MMA/ boxing gym its its a giant rip off and all they care about is money and being *******'s to their students.

I work night shift 11pm-7am and not only is there nothing closer then 40 mins away other then the place i was going nothing seems to open before 5 and i go to bed at 3. So for about 2 months now as training ive been recording my self every time im on the bag watching it and trying to improve i do about 3 sets of 3 rounds inbeteen each set i watch what i did and try to improve. the video above was my last set yesterday.

im currently working on keeping my right up next to my cheek and once i get that down im going to go for keeping my chin tucked.

      opinions advice?
2 seconds into the vid I had to click stop, it was hurting my eyes, lol.

Dude, like someone posted, get a trainer or someone w/ experience. I know I couldn't have done it myself when I was just getting started, no way, no how.

Anyway, here's a tip bro. Before you even start hitting the heavybag, here's some steps to follow that leads up to heavy bag work and I'm sure you've heard these steps before. But listen anyway.

First, lets focus on footwork and hand placement.

      #1 Find a mirror

#2 Keep your chin down, but not all the way down that you can't see what's in front of you

      #3 Hands up
      - Hands up in front of you, not to the side of your face
      - Elbows to your sides, not out like a chicken gesture

#4 Your stance - Simply take one step forward and that's your stance.

#5 Start skipping in and out, until you get a good feel for it, once you get into a rhythm, start off with the jab, so now, you're rocking forward and back, forward and back in coordination with the jab.

#6 To get an idea on correct punching mechanics and form, simply search it on Yout*be.

#7 Once you've gotten a handle on skippin' and out, go over to the heavybag and do the same exact thing.

#8 Start out with one combination to work on, only when you start to feel comfortable with one, then create another combination.

        Thank you.

Been doing the skipping thing for a few mins now, am i supposed to be moving alot or as you said just rocking/shifting my weight from my front foot to my back foot whiel staying on the balls of my feet and being bouncy?

like and i supposed to be stepping in and stepping away?

Exactly, you've got the idea down pat. But on that video, you looked like a schizo going berserk.

Start out slow, it's like learning a new dance move.

Again, start out rocking back and forth, then add a jab, a double jab, then a triple jab, don't be so concerned with the speed and power of your punches, focus on good technique, the power and speed will come along.

Feel it out, and it'll come to ya. You won't get it down in a day, not in a week, more like between 3-6 months, again, stick with 3-5 combinations. Then start tinkering with head movement, lateral movement, yadda, yadda.

            Thanks again.

i really should find a trainer but with constant effort to improve, video to see where i need to improve, and all the excelent advice ive gotten i think i might be able to skip that part till i actually want to start fighting people or atleast for the next few months.

schizo? well thats just how ive been doing it ive noticed definite improvements in power and speed of any one punch not so much with chaining them together in combos though. im going to stick with doing a few rounds like ive been i think one of those rounds is just about as taxing as sparing someone thats gonna help my endurance as well, but most the rounds will be with the skipping and just working the combos in the future. specially for the next video i make in a few months

To be honest i have seen much much worst posted on here many times.

First of all, most of your punches are arm punches. If you don't plan on joining a gym i would suggest checking out some technique videos on the net, there are plenty that will teach your how to throw your punches properly, but if you do something wrong you won't have anybody to tell you. But hey it's better than nothing.

Secondly, your flailling at the bag. But i don't blame you, i see plenty of guys even in the gym doing that. I would highly recommend treating the bag like a real opponent. What i mean is: Get in range, throw a combo, move back. Circle the bag, use your foot work, keep your hands up, ect. The bag doesn't hit back, but when you do bag work it's a good idea to act like it could.

Lastly, you look like a guy with a decent reach ; use it. Your throw most of your punches like if you were fighting on the inside. While fighting on the inside can be good, you need to work to get in the pocket. Use your range and try learning to hit the bag from different distances.

              Hope it helped a little.

should i continue doing the slipping motion i do twords the bag when its swinging at me, can i work that into my combos if it makes sense in the situation? or should i try to just imagine im ducking a punch when nothings there when i slip? like only do it when im side stepping. or work it into combos but just do to the air?

or should i just try all of it?
