    sparring bigger guys

My old trainer lets me sparr with bigger guys biggest was 210 lbs but now he is focus on his pro carrer and no longer train me, now my new train he won't let me sparr with guys weigh 20lbs heavier than me because he said i might not take the pounches. anyway im 115lbs. I don't know who is right coz my old trainer say its good to sparr big guys so i get used to taking hardshots the new one says its bad because it will break me in the long run. Who do u think is right?

its true if u keep eating heavy shots to the head logic tells u that its no good for ur head..sometimes is good to sparr big guys so u work on ur punching power..i think its better if u stick to ur own size.

if possible its best to spar guys your own size or slightly larger (1 or 2 divisions). but in a gym thats not always a possibility, especially if u are a midget like yourslef (j/k, no offense). sparring much bigger guys is something that is good at a certain stage of your training, but not too much for too long. sparring a bigger guy now and then is good for u but your main sparring partner should be roughly your own size.

Your new trainer is more correct. Notice how when professionals have fights, they try and pick sparring partners that resemble their opponents.

It's about experience, the way you'd fight someone much heavier and likely slower than you is different to the way you'd fight someone your size and closer to you in speed.
