  • I need help with my new work out and nutrition regime

Ok im 20 years old a few months away from my 21st birthday and i want to lose all the weight so i can start to learn boxing and i want to be in great shape! these are my "stats"

    235 lbs ...
    5 ''11 1/2

And from last summer i gained 15 lbs and im going into training in 2 weeks and im wondering what are the best way to shed the lbs cuz i want to get down to 180 ASAP....so i got 2 questions

#1 How long you think i could lose the weight going to the gym day in day out

#2 What would be the best work out regime between cardio and weight lifting..should i do more cardio or more weight lifting???

#3 What kinds of food i really should eat and what vitamin i really should buy cuz i heard vitamin D makes you lose weight faster...i use to use HYDROXY cut and i lost weight kinda fast off that but i noticed my heart was raceing alot so i quit useing that stuff forever.

    Any other tips out there?

hydroxy cut was taken off the shelf..it was dangerous.

Eat less, and burn tons of calories off.

Sweat all day. You eat snacks and junk food you remain fat, all there is to it.

as far as workout routine i would suggest 3 types of cardio. first one is for warmup before you lift weights 3x a week. jog for 1-2 miles. second one is long distance running 3-6 miles 3-5x a week maybe even 6 or 7 because it is very light running without trying to kill yourself because you probably wont have the cardio vascular system ready for a fast 6 mile run. the last is optional which can be done in a number of ways. HIIT: high intensity interval training. that should be dont 1-2x a week. weight lift 3x a week. weight lifting and cardio is very important for quick weight loss and for overall physical conditioning. People who just do cardio and diet lose weight fast but when one thing changes they gain back the weight fairly quick. when you diet, cardio and weight lift you put on a bit of muscle and it allows you to burn calories especially when you indulge from your diet or stop doing cardio for a little bit. i group my lifting days like this. Chest and triceps, shoulders and legs, back and bicep. whenever you workout try wearing sweatpants, tshirt, long sleve shirt, sweater and a beanie so you can sweat keep off extra water weight you may be holding in. Drink more then the average daily intake of water which will also help you lose weight. as far as diet you need to do your research. find a cal calculator and see what your daily intake should be for quick fat loss. eat 5-6 small meals a day. reason for this is to fool your body into thinking its getting more food then it is by eating before you get hungry every 3-4 hours. find a good multivitamin to take as well. i take optimen by optimum nutrition. do your research on the kinds of food you should eat. 55lbs of weight loss at the quickest would be around 12 weeks if you were very strict and stuck to your diet and workout routines. that would be a healthy length of time. it always depends on the situation but anymore then 5lbs of raw fat lost per week can have very negative effects on the body. 10 weeks would probably be very very quick. going to the gym day in and day out isnt necessary. you could lose this weight without spending necessary time in the gym. weight lifting shouldnt take any longer then 1.5 hours. from not running for years i could knock out 5-6 miles in an hours easy without even getting out of breath. a session of HIIT should last between 20-30 minutes. the only reason weight lifting would take long at all is becaues some people tend to socialize more then do work in the gym and if thats what you want then you can either waste the time doing that are do work and get that weight off. Well hopefully you got through this whole post haha and good luck. and repping isnt a crime around the forums heh if you have any other questions let me know or post it.

#1 How long you think i could lose the weight going to the gym day in day out

Personally after one week i would think that you would get way to sore and take a week off which turns into no return till next summer. I rest mondays work out tues wed and thurs rest friday hard work out sat very easy work out sun and back to rest mon.

the hard work out sat kind of tells me if i can go harder during the week or if i need to cut back.

I would pick 2 days to rest commit yourself to them and rest on those days. even if you dont feel sore and you want to go for a jog dont its a rest day and its place is very important especially if you want to keep going.

Id say an equal amount of HIIT to weight lifting. but if your just doing light warm ups and light jogging your going to want to do lots more cardio then you spend lifting.

#3 What kinds of food i really should eat and what vitamin i really should buy cuz i heard vitamin D makes you lose weight faster...i use to use HYDROXY cut and i lost weight kinda fast off that but i noticed my heart was raceing alot so i quit useing that stuff forever.

Just get out their and start jogging. id be more concerned with loosing my first 10 lbs then if vitamin d will help shrink my midsection.

when getting back into working out of course people are going to get extremely cases of doms especially if you push yourself every workout. thats part of getting back into it. Thats why the days should be split up in what your doing. Just because my chest and tris are sore doesnt mean im gonna skip my shoulders and legs even though my chest and tris will someone flex due to stabilizing weight. Itll just prolong your results if you decide to take a break just because one group of muscles are sore. when i dont jumprope for a while and i go and jumprope for 20+ minutes the next day my calfs are sore like a ***** but that doesnt stop me from jumproping the next day. If i dont run for a long time and i go knock out a hour session (5miles) and my legs get sore by the next day im still gonna go hit the road and they will eventually heal. doms is part of working out and cant be used as an excuse unless you are in serious pain like i was where i could even move my arm without being in some lvl 10 pain but that didnt stop me from doing chest and tri day the next week even though my bicep hurt.

so does lvl 2 thigh lvl 2 knee lvl 2 ankle lvl 2 foot and lvl 2 calf pain equal lvl 10 leg pain? when you run everything can get sore not just your biceps

you can work out everday if you want. its just going to take you alot longer to get to 7 miles in an hour or 40 miles a week. if your not giving your legs a chance to recover then how are you going to improve on what you did yesterday? mentally try harder? you know what happens when you do something your not conditioned for......injury.

Just because your running in pain dosent mean your improving you have to run farther or faster to improve. in the event you didnt recover you wont be running as fast or as far and since you are in pain you will probably going shorter and slower then you want to.

recovery is one of the most important things in running. In weight lifting you can focus on one muslce or one group and do another the next day in turn allowing the muscles to rest.

"Just because my chest and tris are sore doesnt mean im gonna skip my shoulders and legs even though my chest and tris will someone flex due to stabilizing weight."

in this case using the sore muscles but not as a focus helps you use up some of the acid in the muscles, streches them out, increases blood flow, and shortens the recover time. usually you dont want to recover the day after a hard work out where you get sore. its better to take the day after to do similar exercises but at a very low impact then recover the day after that for the sore muscles.

I'm not trying to increase my speed and times for my long distance running. Especially just starting out. There is a big difference between very low intensity cardio soreness and isolation soreness. In extreme rare situations maybe post cardio soreness may cause an inability to workout but doubtful. Even in extreme situations where I've done my hiit that involves an Olympic bar and a coMbo of iso and compoud movements I've worked through my first week of 4 different routines completely sore from the first one and not even able to walk properly but still did the other routines in that week and I recovered in about a week to a week in a half compared to a time I waited until soreness left. It took me 2 weeks or more to get used to it because I would just get sore again. We could honestly go back and forth about what works and not but it really boils down to knowing your body and being smart about how one works out. For long distance I personally recover fast enough even from not working out to go 3-5 days straight. For iso living it takes about 3-4 weeks to get used to my routine because of having to work up to finishing with my target weight. I expect to be sore for atleast that amount of time especially if I'm out of shape. I'll check this post later cuz this is posted from an iPhone and it's taking long heh.
