He's telling I have a lot of potential but I cant reach it without the right conditioning and I cant reach that while I'm smoking............anyone been throught this and please help me quit.
One of my friends stopped smoking cold turkey and doesnt even have a craving for it anymore. He devided he wanted to fully dedicate himself into this sport, how much do you want it? I guess your one of the people that press the "Do Not Press" button just to find out what happens hah. The answer is clear, you know what to do...

Heres some boxers who have smoked (Past or Present)

        .Carlos Monzon
        .Daniel Zaragoza
        .Ricardo Mayorga

Ray Robinson later in his career smoked marijuana.
Sam Langford liked a Cigar, it is belived.

I think some of very the old school liked a Cigar.

Would smoking marijuana once a week derail all the hard work a boxer puts in during the week?

lol. yeah because smoking weed is so cool

            even Michael Phelps does it.

that alone almost makes me want to go out and smoke a blunt.

            almost.

**to TS good luck on cigg quitting, it's all about will power.

I use to smoke, started very young. I was fighting the entire time. It was very hard and really would put alot of stress on my lungs. I wouldn't call it a fatigue, as I would say a chest pain. Even after quitting, it takes a long time for that **** to get out of your lungs.

I would suggest quiting as soon as you can, just as any other athlete should quit smoking.

Pack a month? That's not even smoking! =)

I started fighting when I was 8. I use to steal cigarettes and **** from my grandmother, but I didn't fully start smoking(Having my own packs daily) till I was about 12. I smoked atleast a pack a day till I was 18, and I was fighting the entire time.

The only thing I had on my side that helped was how much road work I did, and the fact that I was young so my jacked up horomoned ass could handle it.

I have a very similar situation to Trrmo; except for the social aspect.
I only smoked on the weekends, when I drank (pack a month smoker like KILLA RIGHT).
My biggest issue was that I was getting sick about once a month.
The smoking didn't hurt me so much in the gym, but it prevented my body from recuperating properly after hard workouts; which was part of the reason I was getting sick. Alcohol and cigs both leach your body of vitamins and weaken your immune system.

I do have it a little easier than Trrmo as my wife is pregnant and she used to be my favorite drinking buddy. Now neither of us can drink and it's working out pretty well.
I think 09's gonna be my year.
