I don't think so, some of the best fighters I know in person never started till their 20's.

Also, that is a plus if your in good shape already and you already know some stuff about boxing. The guys I'm talking about just took up boxing, they weren't ever fans of it really until now. So you'd probably would have a better start then they did and wouldn't have to put much effort into somethings you already know.

I'm 24 and I'm about to train just for fun, not to become a professional boxer.

It depends on your weight class. Starting at 22 might be good for a heavyweight.

If boxing doesn't work out for you, you may want to try MMA. It requires less skill than boxing does.

i'm 24, started training seriously when i was 23. I am in the best shape of my life.

It is not too late for you. You will be fighting younger guys, but once you get used to this fact, it's no problem. If you watched the Olympics this year, there were many 20+ year olds - mid 20's fighters in there from all countries.

i started when i was 20. i don't think its too old as long as u take advantage of your young age.

Football training and boxing training are vastly different. Football players at my club had a nasty habit of hanging up the gloves after only a week or two.
