Dude, he looked so much bigger than you. What weight class are you btw? and old are you? (he looked a good half a ft bigger than you, does rees vs kortenik pop in mind?) Btw I thought you looked alright, better than me on my debut anyway. (even though I won but still, you looked good).

well the scale i used at my gym was 5 pounds off than the one i used at the weigh in. i thought i was 142 goin into the fight, but i was 137 according to their scale. the other guy was 144, so i had to down 2 bottles of water and eat a little snack to bump me up to 139.

7 pounds.......thats still a bit to give away between two evenly matched fighters.....

i still reckon he looked more than 7lbs bigger than you mate but oh well

I also noticed that your jab is a little bit lazy and you don't use it as much as you should. I would suggest working on getting a stiffer jab and using it more before throwing thos big right hands.

Finally when you move out, you back up in a straight line. It's not a big deal because everybody does that at first, but it's still important.

Anyway, props for posting that video. That guy looked pretty experimented and you did well. Don't let it get to you.
ya my coach was tellin me to use my jab more every break between the rounds, but my fatigue and instincts just kicked in. i've already been praticin shiftin to the side when i'm tryin to get out of range as well.

            but thanks for the tips

On a serious note.. Don't be suprised he stopped it, I would of stopped it along time before then..
and i didn't know **** had the balls to step in the ring, but i guess you proved me wrong.

and if your talkin about my reaction when the ref called it off, i was surprised at that point. i was only exhausted and not really hurt, so i wanted ithe fight to carry on. after thinkin about it though, he prolly would got me on 3 standin 8 counts because i was just a punchin bag at that point.

and by the way, when would have you stopped the fight?

well i was goin for lightweight, but i had to go up to welterweight because there was no one in my weight class that i could match up with and i wanted a fight. but he was maybe a few inches taller than me, i was just keepin my stance low. and i'm 22 by the way.

my trainin was pretty bad to be honest. i maybe ran once a week or twice if i was lucky. then i'd be in the gym doin pad and bag work 2 or 3 days and do some weights 2 days of the week. but the reason why i got tired pretty quickly was the fact that every power shot i threw, i was tryin to go for the knock out. i used up a lot of energy doin that. so add the 2 together and that's what happens. i should of used more speed and snappier punches, but like i said... i'll learn from my mistakes.

Well, you seem to have taken it well and didn't quit so it was a good fight! Workout with the goal of being able to beat that guy and maybe you can fight him again.

Yup **** clearly do have the balls to step in the ring seeing as i box at a high level
You weren't fit enough for the fight.. Your coach should not have put you in already... As its your first fight i guess ill let you off but you do what all people do on their first fight and throw bombs..
Should of kept a tight guard and pare (sp?) some of his shots to counter.. Its not about the knockout you know its about the points.. Feint more often and more head movement.. Try not to stay flat footed but dont bounce around too much as you'll lose stamina.. Relax and keep your arms flexible and flick your jab out more.. Throw more combos like.. Feint to the head, jab to the body uppercut to the jaw.. Should of stayed in close and be the agressor, you would of saved energy by not jumping around but by pushing him around the ring..

You looked good.. concentrate on your training.. you'll definitely beat him the next time.. You looked pretty good just got tired... you were winning and would have won based on the first 2 rounds... got too tired in the 3rd... Good fight.

and if that was your first.. even better fight.
