  • Heavy Bag Training Video....

I decided to let my boy record a heavy bag training session of me.

So take it for what it is, some facts you prolly want to know before you watch,

its 110 lb. bag, most likely too heavy for a featherweight.
the room i have to work with sucks,
plus its on a stand so i cant really move in a jab.

    but **** it, enough excuses.
enjoy, and if you guys want, drop some feedback.
id love to hear it and take it in to consideration for my next training session.

and feel free to drop a comment and a rating if youd like.

    Micka.

You need to put ur hands up more. After you throw a punch bring ur hand back to ur head just as fast as u threw the punch.

            Ya need to stop: -

            Switching stances.
            Raise ya punches.
            Keep ya hands up.
Twist into your punches to get more power.
Stick the jab rather than pawing at it.
That bag should not move that much. Stick ya shots.
You are wide open for an uppercut.
            More head movement.
            Dont reach out for bodyshots.
            Duck down for body shots.

Not bad. I would put a tenner on you beating that bull****ter RJJ wannabe shawn. You need to improve in these areas:

                    1) Workout at a boxing club where you will have more advice on defence. I won't tell you to put your hands up if their theory of defence is different and involved head movement. Personally I would tuck up a bit more as well as bob and weave. Especially the back hand needs to stay fixed to chin, even if the lead hand is dropped.

                    2) You're going in right direction on stinging bag and keeping loose with combos. AIM for the SAME SPOT when you throw head shot combos. If you can't hit same spot then your timing is off. Eg. a double jab and cross should all land in same area. Visualise a chin.

                    3) You need to get snappier with jab, sometimes it's sloppy. I found throwing two full one's from chin and back makes them blurrier and more crisp. Half jabs and flicking it doesn't help in fights. Step in too. Loosen it up and you'll find more openings with it.
