[QUOTE=mspiegelo;3909464] i took a hell of a shot 3 weeks ago that i felt for like 2.5 weeks. i could barely do situps or pullups for the first week, though i did em anyway. i mean, im trying to get my d on point so im not getting hit in the ribs, but a little fat is good. i've been taking extra fish oil lately...QUOTE]
was it the left that got you, or the right? I'm betting it was the left, but that's just my simpleton guess. I'm just a spoke on a wheel

not only can i not recall what punch it was specifically, but i cant remember against whom i got it. when it happened, my adrenaline was high and i didnt really feel the punch's severity. it was on my left but i sparred 4 different guys on 3 seperate days (Wed, Fri, Mon) of the week: 1 guy on wed, 2 different guys, each for 2 rounds, on Fri and one on that following Monday). i have it narrowed down to two possibilities... it was either a left hook from my trainer who fights in the masters or a right hook from a highly ranked open heavyweight- a southpaw who trains at my gym (was #2 earlier in year, now is #6 in the country), though he was wearing 22s to handicap himself cause he would school me too badly with 18s (what i was wearing)... by the end of that week, i had a lot of aches and pains, a broken nose, and a bruised rib... lets just say im back to sparring once a week until i hit my camp for my first fight....
my nose is still healing but i have been wearing the everlast facesaver that we have at my gym for sparring to keep bleeding to a minimum... i may invest in the winning facesaver when i get some dough saved cuz i got a big *** schnoz. my coach tells me that the bleeding will become more rare as my nose gets used to the punishment and the cartilidge gets tougher. i can already see an improvement in the level of bleeding (and my defense more importantly)...
8%, 145 lbs being 5'10 1/2". I haven't worked out or boxed in over two months now though. Back then I was a welterweight (152) with 6% bfp, but with a lot more muscle mass. Now I'm seriously considering moving down to lightweight, not just because I'd be bigger, I used to be a big welterweight, but because I'd retain more speed.
